Please bear in mind, our services are extremely busy and our initial telephone triage appointments can be filled early in the day. At Unity@Central we run a triage-first system.

This is a walk-in clinic (no appointment needed) for advice, testing for chlamydia and gonorrhoea, free condoms and lube and where necessary: HIV and syphilis
Please note no examinations or prescriptions for medicine can be provided at this clinic.
Unity vending machines
Unity has vending machines across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. These machines dispense STI test kits and HIV point-of-care tests. These are free to use.

- If you are aged less than 25 years old, you can get this for free at any pharmacy or your GP.
- If you are aged over 25 years old, you can buy oral emergency contraception from any pharmacy or contact your GP.
- If you are having difficulties in obtaining emergency contraception, or would like to discuss an emergency IUD, call 0117 342 6900 for Bristol and South Gloucestershire or 01934 881234 for North Somerset.

If your coil or implant needs to be changed because it is out of date -please use condoms or an alternative method of contraception, as you may be at risk of pregnancy. Unity have a limited number of appointments available for routine coil and implant changes, therefore there may be a delay before it can be changed.

- If you are aged 20 or over please contact your GP in the first instance. They can refer you to Unity if necessary.

If you need contraceptive pills or the contraceptive injection (DepoProvera) you can call your GP to discuss this or request further supplies. If you do not have a GP you can call Unity on 0117 342 6900 for Bristol and South Gloucestershire or 01934 881234 for North Somerset.

- I am pregnant and want advice on abortion
If you’re pregnant and are either considering an abortion or you are having difficulty making a decision about what to do, we are here to help. We can provide impartial advice and support.

This number is available 7am-8pm everyday. You can make the call yourself or someone else can make the call on your behalf.
- You will be asked for some routine information including your name and address and your GP details (if you have one). You will then be given a telephone or face to face appointment to discuss your options.
If you are having difficulty reaching a decision we can give you accurate information about how many weeks pregnant you are and your options.
- If you are under 18 years old you will need to identify a supporting adult (someone who is over 18) to support you during the abortion process. If you don’t have someone to ask, do not delay in making an appointment. Staff will help you plan your abortion.
If you’re pregnant and considering abortion, you are not alone. 1 in 3 UK women will have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old.

- What can I do if I have been affected by domestic violence and abuse?
Domestic violence and abuse is not acceptable. If you report this to Unity, police or other agencies it will be taken seriously.
Important: If you feel in immediate danger, dial 999 straight away and wait in a safe place for the police to arrive.
There are many organisations that can help. They can help with a range of issues from crisis intervention, advocacy, housing, to safety planning.
